Nah, it wasn't "exciting" but Wlad did exactly what he had to do to win, and did so with some style IMHO. I always like watching the guy fight. As the old cliché goes, you can only beat the man in front of you, and only a smuck gives his opponent a chance of a lucky KO when there is no need to.

Exactly, it's the same people that after every Wlad fight they say he was sooo boring, and they never gonna watch him again, yet they just keep coming back to watch his fight. Doesn't make any sense.

Wlad completely dominated the guy. I thought it was pretty cool.
And 6 and 1/2 rounds then we get the ko.
        That's cool with me.

        It's Rahman's fault he can't fight for **** nowadays, not Wlad's.
        It takes two to tango.

Heavyweight div. is quite simply the suckiest div. in the sport.
its rahman who should be trashed. he's the one that did nothing but try to survive all fight

The mandatory challenger Povetkin pulled out of the fight with injury. That's why Wlad instead fought Rahman who happenned to be the highest ranked opponent available as a replacement.

This is the first time I believe I've ever uttered Wlad's name in the almost three years I've been on this site. This is the weakest the heavyweight div. has ever been and that is the only reason Wlad has accomplished what he has. He would've never been champ in the 90's. Never.

I have followed this hate ever since Vlad stepped onto the scene back in 2001. You see, at first the critics dowsed Vlad with hate and downplayed his obvious (yes, obvious to any mother****er with an unbiased heart) boxing talent. They discredited him by saying he was robotic, and "as soon as he fights someone with a pulse" he will be "exposed". Vlad went on to beat Mercer in dominating fashion, and then lost to Sanders.

After his loss to Sanders, he was "a bum" with a glass jaw, he was this, or he was that. Since his loss to Brewster (which he later revenged), he has went on to win in dominating fashion. Boring or not, he wins. He just wins, and is better than any other heavyweight out there.

Vlad is an athletic phenom and great offensive fighter for his size, who has power, speed, and is quite capable of tripling the left hook (like tonight) and putting combos together like no other heavyweight, in a LONG time. Seriously, when was the last time you've seen a 6'7'' 245 pound heavyweight with the physical gifts Vlad possesses? When was the last time you've seen someone of his size put together combos like he does, with the speed he has?

Now whoever Vlad faces, and whoever he beats, Vlad's opponent "didn't come to fight" or was "intimidated". If only his next opponent will throw a punch. ****ing clowns. Vlad does not LET his opponents get off, because of his jab, size and speed, and all around boxing ability. He is just BETTER than all of his opposition, whether you like it or not. Everyone will beat Vlad, whoever he faces next, or so Vlad's haters say.

Now that the Vlad haters have swallowed the reality pill, and know he is that good, and he keeps winning no matter who is put in front of him - NOW he is uninteresting.

Why is he uninteresting? He is uninteresting in the minds of his haters because he just wins, and does not give his opponents a chance to beat him. Vlad fights smarter now, TO WIN. This tears people who do not like Vlad apart. They hate it, and so they use the "uninteresting" angle.

Let me point out something else that is at the core of the hate, and that is RACE. Yes, it is race, or a large part of the dislike of Vlad, from black boxing fans, and white self hating boxing fans. They are not comfortable with Vlad as good as he is. They are not comfortable with his physical talent. They need a black heavyweight so bad. Why? Who the **** knows. I would guess self hatred on part of the white boxing fans, or a lot of them, and because black boxing fans want a black champion. Just the way it goes.

Lets cut the politically correct ****, about the "nationalism" as well. I always hear clowns say it's because Vlad is from the Ukraine - or when a British boxer takes on an American boxer. People say it's because of country. NO IT ****ING ISNT. It's only portrayed as such to hide and veil the real reasons for hating and rooting. A perfect example is David Haye. Haye is British, but guess what, he's BLACK. You see a lot of American boxing fans jocking Haye now, the same people who always claim national pride is at stake. Open your eyes, and read around. Its the truth for the most part, or be man enough to admit it.

Last but not least, when Vlad continues to win and dominate, the heavyweight division is weak. Vlad's fault? Huh? Is it? His fault that the heavyweight division isn't what it was from a couple decades ago? No its not.

So, whatever happens from here on out, know that Vlad will be and IS one of the best ever in terms of raw offensive boxing ability. He is a phenom for an athlete considering his size. That is a fact.

                  Choke on it.

I happen to like Wlad but I can agree that his fight in recent years have been devoid of real excitement. And the most logical explanation for this, is that his competitive hasn't been all that good or, he's just been so much better. He dominates his opponents in such way where it's not competitive at all and that can sometimes produce a boring fight...

I will say this though, Team Klitschko's match-making of this fight justifiably should be criticized. Rahman has looked dismal at best in recent years and quit during his last fight. Because of this, Team Klitschko and HBO should not have considered Rahman a viable opponent for a second. There's plenty of other contenders out there that would have given much more effort than the Rock did tonight...
