I know Hatton is winning but what the heck, in all that time why did the referee have to stop and tie his shoes when he got hurt with a left hook? You can tie it when they were just looking at each other instead doing it in a situation where Hatton was hurt.. He was holding at Lazcano at that time.

He didn't. Hatton got caught with a couple of clean punches, went to clinch and the ref broke them up and warned Lazcano who was trying to push Hatton on the floor on the back of his head. While Hatton was walking to a neutral corner he tripped on his shoelace, brought it to the attention of the ref and that was that.

There was a break in the action at the time the ref fixed the problem.

Naturally the Versus commentators were loathe to be reasonable. They were extremely uncharitable towards Hatton throughout the fight for some reason. Like he bummed their girlfriend or something.

It amusing to me how 30 seconds in one round can turn the guy from being the unified division champ to being past it.

I can't count the number of times in the lead up to the Malinaggi fight i saw those 30 seconds brought up.

It's as if the other guy is somehow not allowed to land a decent punch or something.
