Is James Toney a shot fighter?

230 is a pretty good weight for Toney. But the question is how much does he have left in the tank?

If he's shot then it doesn't matter if he's in good shape or not. Toney is after all 40 years old with 81 fights....been taking quite a few punhes during his 20 year long career and is definitely not in his prime anymore. He didn't look all that great last time I saw him against Rahman back in august. Oqendo isn't the best boxer in the world but he's a tough guy who's going to bring it and do his best to put as much pressure on Toney as he possible can and try to wear Toney down and KO him.

Even though he talks a lot of trash and have said some ignorant stuff in the past I still like him. He seems like a cool guy and is after all a very skilled boxer. I hope Toney wins but I think it's going to be a very tough fight for him.

According to himself he's the BEST in the world and will beat the Klit brothers...etc. But does Toney still pose a threat to any major heavyweight in the business or is he pretty much done as a fighter? If Toney is shot then even someone like Oquendo is going to beat him.

james is an old man. he gets by on his toughness and natural skill, but it can only take him so far. the fact that he has competed with these huge heavyweights over past few years is a testament to his greatness. that whole notion of being a "throw back fighter" is not always used correctly. it is used correctly when speaking about james though. JT is a beast.

You cant see much on that lil pic but what you see looks like solid muscle. But 230 ist still too much.

Shot to hell. This wouldnt even be a fight if he werent. He has been shot for years. That said, a shot Toney should still win this fight.

He should have enough left to win this fight, even Holyfield managed to beat Oquendo although it was a disputed decision.

I don't think he beats any top heavyweight though, I believe that he would've lost to Tony Thompson if the fight had happened.
