But the number of indentured servants didn't quite match up with the huge population of black ******. Also, the treatment of blacks was pretty aweful even after they were freed. The unfair treatment had gone on into the 1960s. Pretty sad.

Indentured Servants is whom you're speaking of who became so because of their own DEBT and worked for a limited time not their whole lifetime

The difference between an indentured servant and a slave is that an indentured servant could be freed after 7 years or so. After they had paid off the cost of coming to America through work, they were free to do as they wished.

Also, indentured servants chose to enter into that arrangement, whereas ****** were forced or born into it.
