I disagree with this article...
just because you can doesn't mean that you will.
it's like saying there's not enough doctors because they're all becoming lawyers... OR like saying every fat ass out there CAN loose all that weight and get that great body, but will they?!
my sport (boxing) is a jealous sport, you gotta want it, you gotta have that warrior/gladiator mentality, and want to be in a fight, in the squared circle. All of those basketball/football players KNOW boxing exists, BUT they decided they'd rather shoot a ball or catch one rather than take a PUNCH. they have already been CULLED without setting a foot in the ring! lol they were never fighters or meant to be in ring to begin with! So the author's theory is really therefore only trying to find an excuse. They lost the fight before it even started.
I COULD get off my lazy ass and become the best boxer in the world, there is always the chance I am harbouring some "special talent".
Just because it's possible, however, doesn't mean it is going to happen, or is even remotely likely.
By the mere fact that they obviously had no interest in boxing, means they would have ****** at it anyway. They lack the obvious drive and desire to be the best they can be.

It's all about the $$$$, rather than one man's pride.Comment

That's a poor excuse...
Why did the US no win any Gold or Silver at the Olympics this year, in any weight division?
Why are there fewer and fewer American titleholders in the smaller weight divisions in boxing?
It has to do with the rest of the world catching up and passing the US, not only in boxing, but in everything else (manufacturing, space technology, etc).Comment
