If Steele never stopped the fight....

...how different would Meldrick Taylor's career been? He was an unusual case, a philly guy that was slick but he just loved to prove his machismo. He took way too many punches in his later career and ended up a sad state. I feel sorry for the guy. I don't think he would've reached the height of JCC but he deserved that win.

I personally think they shouldn't have stopped the fight, but who knows... Maybe chavez could have ran back to hit taylor one more time really hard and taylor could have ended up worse then Micheal Watson.

He still woulda paid the physical price, but he'd have peace of mind from the victory. I think he wouldn't have ended up quite as bad just cuz of that, although he certainly still lost a ton of himself in that fight.

I agree, whatever Taylor had his left in that ring. Watching the replays of it is like watching JCC slowly drain the life out of Taylor. He deserved the win, but you're right he left it all there that night.

I wouldn't say Chavez caused all of Taylor's damage, I would say fighting Norris is what caused most of it.

Taylor wasn't really done after the JCC fight I mean he went on to UD Aaron Davis, not a very bad fighter....But yeah it's sad seeing him now

            This is true.

However, you won't be able to tell this to a lot of the "Legendary Nights Boxing Fan Era" (not specifically referring to anyone on this thread), who would rather just simplify **** they saw on a documentary instead of actually reading up on and watching the fights of Meldrick Taylor.

Taylor wasn't the same afterwards, but he was still a good fighter for a little while longer.

From the fights I've see of Taylor before, he always looked too hittable to me. He took a lot of flush puches regardless.
