Has Anybody Ever Outright Called A Fighter A "BUM" On The Air?

I mean has anybody ever been watching a telecast and heard the announcer outright say that one of the fighters in the ring is a "BUM"?

I know the term is thrown around alot in boxing and some hate it, I love it and think it's hilarious and what not but at the same time i think it's a over used term and very few of the guys that are called "BUMS" really are and some truly are and then theres that guy the one that just looks talks acts and fights the part of a ****ing "BUM" lmao.

Anyway I was just wondering if anybody heard and would like to tell the tale or had a youtube video...I have never heard it said by anybody but fighters trainers promoters etc etc I have heard announcers use the term but not reall directed at the guy fighting and usually they are quoting the other fighter saying it...but anybody got a good story i would love to hear it....Peace

NOTE: The Term B-Level Or C Level Or Tomato Can Do Not Apply...We Talking The Straight Forward "Quite Frankly He's A Bum Jim" kinda **** lol.

That would be even more unprofessional than Larry Merchant, which pretty much isn't possible.

Never heard of or seen it done, but Toney calls people bums in interviews all the time.

David Haye calls the entire heavy division bums and fat slobs.

I never heard a commentator do it though.

I remeber that interview. It was brilliant, and made me realise how much the Heavies needs/needed a charismatic sex machine like Mr Haye.

I remember watching a fight on ESPN or Fox sports I believe, about a year or two ago.

And there was a kid in there who really had no idea what he was doing. He was trying but whoever told him he should fight professionally needed to be shot. He held his hands up below his shoulders the entire fight and just threw the most basic 1, 1-2's the whole fight with nothing behind it.

The commentators didn't call him a bum outright but kept saying over and over that he shouldn't be boxing because he could really get hurt. And that he wasn't being trained right, if it all.

Surprisingly the guy he was fighting was some undefeated guy 4-0 or something, from one of the caribbean islands and he won every round of the fight but didn't get a knockout.

Thats the **** im talking about...that is classic.
LMAO I would have loved to hear the announcer especially if he had the angry tone that they only reserve for being sickened by a ref's refusal to stop a massacre. "This guy Shouldn't even be in the ring, he is not being trained right if even at all and based on this performance my money is on the latter...This is an ourage he should not be in there he will get seiously hurt"

Just hearing that if your the fighter has to be perhaps the worst possible moment of there entire life , not even career life.

The hunt continue i bet someone has said it atleast once...I'll tell you who would if they did fights would be Stephen A Smith he actually gets angry when players don't play effectively in the NBA and is real over the top and in no way bias with people he likes and if his guy looked horrible he may say live in like the sixth "this is a travesty he looks like a bummm this is an emabarssment, he should retire not even after the fight after the next break of the action he's horrible"

Stephen A Smith on the best damn sports show back in the day went into a real tirade where he used the word bum and I know he would in boxing as well...what set him off on the show was the fans in N.Y. were cheering and happy that the team traded Patrick Ewing to the Sonics and Stephen was irate as soon as they went to him with the NBA beat or whatever his thing was and he lost it with that insane look on his face....SMITH: THE FANS OF NEW YORK ARE A COMPLETE DISGRACE THEY ARE CHEERING LIKE HE WAS A BUMMMMMMMMMM" anyhow he said it a few time after but the first one was so funny and it ranks up with James Toney's usage and Mick& Paulie's lol. Thanks for the story I got a good laugh picturing that.
