There are certain people, with certain skills in this sport that you HAVE TO respect for their undeniable knowledge, skills, etc. Post some of what you think are undeniably some of the more respected/respectful boxers/skills in the game, pat of present.
1. Floyd Mayweather's talent: His defense, mastery of "the shoulder roll" is amazing to behold at its peak. Watch his fights against Chavez, N'Dou or Baldomir to watch his defense at it's best, picking off shots while countering with uppercuts and right hands.
2. Manny Pacquiao's ferocity and will: This man has moved up in weight from starting as a 16 year old at 106 to beating the most recognizable name in the sport at 147 pounds, maintaing his power, speed, and will to win. He deserves the P4P #1 ranking that he has.
3. Bernard Hopkins' ring intelligence: He knows your flaws, and he exploits them like no other. When he's been an underdog, he's proven himself in the face of adveristy, and his right hand is one of the slickest, most feared weapons in the sport. At age 43, he is a Top 5 P4P fighter, that's unheard of.
4. Pernell Whitaker's awkward defensive mastery: The man was damn near impossible to hit in his prime. Crazy to watch. Just...crazy.
5. Roy Jones' athleticism: A freak of nature in his prime. Fast, explosive, powerful, and as far as I know, the only man to have a behind-the-back KO. Also the only man since Bob Fitzsimmons to win a belt at Middleweight, and ultimately win a Heavyweight title.
