i think the reason why fighters are so successful depends alot on who they have in their corner.
A trainer and a fighter have to have that relationship. They have to feed off one another. Ali and Dundee, Tyson and D'Mato, Pacquiao and Roach, Hatton and Graham, Mayweather and Mayweather, Calzaghe and Calzaghe, They have to get emotionally involved with their pupil so their fighter can trust them and gain confidence.
Fighters who bounce from trainer to trainer are almost like wanderers. How can a fighter expect a trainer to understand him, when they're only working together for 9-12 weeks.
Emmanuel Steward has trained many fighters. But how many of them has he been really close to? The same with Nacho Bernstein and Buddy Mcgirt.
In my opinon, it's the trainers that care immensely for their fighters that will be successful.
