Would he be huge in the US? He's not that exciting of a fighter, but he's very likable and funny. Plus he's been dominating the division for the last few years.

If Wlad were an American, the American media would be much more positive about him, and he'd have become a household name by now. -

According to what Wlad said on Conan O'Brien, Vitali is just under 6'7" and he is just under 6'6".
Interestingly, a surprising number of Wlad's opponents have outweighed him: Thompson, Purrity, Austin, Wolfgramm, McCline, Jefferson, etc.Comment

I may be new here, but I have had many names on this site before. If Wlad was American, he would be the next white hope/hype and folks would be nut hugging him everywhere like he was Tyson in his prime. Anyone who thinks otherwise suffers from what I call the "Mike Tyson Hangover." They just can't get over the fact that the best heavyweight isn't American anymore and hate on anyone who isn't an American heavyweight. News Flash people, the best fighters aren't American anymore. Boxing is a global sport, get over your arrogance/ignorance.Comment

I dont see how race has anything to do with it. Since when has a white guy had problems being embraced by the American public? Let's not forget about the hype surrounding the great white hope as recently as when holmes fought cooney.Comment
