First of all a tune-up fight is fighting a guy with a similar style to the guy you're supposed to face in the future...for example...

De La Hoya vs Forbes... Forbes was a tune up to get ready for a Mayweather Jr rematch...Forbes has a similar style to Floyd but has no power.
