According to Boxrec, Sergio Medina has not even been down once in his whole career prior to this fight.

In the fight with Lopez he went down 3 times from virtually no punches landed on him.

correction on that. in the BoomBoom fight he got hurt a few times and almost got decapitated in one of the later rounds and then held on to survive the rest of the fight. If Bautista could hurt him bad i JML could have done alot worse.

as far as i see Medina made a typical fighter excuse after he quit. the guy is seen as a Hero in his home town and so he made excuses for them on why he quite, dont think he thought this out thoroughly though, he prob dint think it would get this big.
