the guys you mentioned were either old and had very little left or were shot. You're just pissed because Cotto quit while in the pinnacle of his career. I'm not hatin or saying there's anything wrong with it but it is what it is. Take a look at all the fights of the year in the last 30yrs, you'll see alot of Mexican boxers on that list. Just look at a fight earlier this year Vazquez-Marquez that wsa beyond a Rocky movie and they still want to do it again.

I never saw Oscar quit. I saw his corner and ring doctors basically throw in the towel. Oscar did not protest it, but he was taking a severe beating and was really not in any position to protest it.
Oscar is probably glad that he lives in a world where the people around him and the officials care about his long term health. That is bull**** jealousy by Margarito. He is simply bitter over ODLH. He must have compared their bank accounts.Comment

I honestly think all this Mexican fighters talking **** about DLH, is just because they are jealous of Oscar. I mean, Oscar didnt have to take have the punches this guys took and takes during fights, to get paid 4 or 5 times what they get paid. Is just pure jelousy and bitterness!!!!!!!!!Comment

it's not about jealousy, although chavez was obviously pissed for his own reasons. Some Mexicans throw the "you're not a true Mexican" thing in dlh's face because he was always desperate to get their approval even though he's never spent much time there. My favorite boxer is chicano bobby chacon, he was never embraced in Mexico and I'm sure most rooted against him when he fought mexican Rafael Limon, but Chacon never tried to prove that he was a "true Mexican". He stepped in the ring and gave it all he had and won their respect in the end. De La Hoya has accomplished alot but youre never going to gain the respect of Mexicans by gloating about a victory over a faded legend like Chavez. Fighting Margarito was a good opportunity to redeem himself and I'm sure he would have if he hadnt been completely shot and lost his recent fight.Comment
