You know why it matters, because if and when Floyd beats Manny, the first thing Floydamaniacs will say is, "see, he just beat the best p4p fighter today, he doesn't need to beat Margarito or Cotto they weren't ever p4p number 1, so Floyd is all time top 5".

Trust me when I say that.

Floyd beating Margarito and Cotto does ten times more for his career than beating Pacquiao, who hes really supposed to beat.

I'd like to see him and Manny tangle too, but if he does, the justification is there to call him an all time ducker if Margarito and Cotto aren't in the plans.

Because Pac is a more accomplished/ respected fighter and some consider him the best fighter of this era and we both know that.

Let's look at a side by side comparison.

              Manny Pacquiao..................Floyd Mayweather
              initial fighting weight:
              Flyweight........................................s uper featherweight

              @ age 21:
              Flyweight......................................... .super featherweight

              divisions
              fought in:

              Flyweight......................................... ...........Super Featherweight
              Super bantamweight (jumped bantam.........................Lightweight
              & super flyweight)........................................ .....Jr. Welterweight
              featherweight..................................... .................Welterweight
              super featherweight..................................... ......Jr. Middleweight
              lightweight
              welterweight

If Manny Pacquiao fights Mayweather he will be fighting him at Jr. Welter he will be fighting him 8 weight classes from his initial start weight. If he fights him at lightweight it will be 7.

Mayweather will be fighting him 3 weight classes from his initial start weight or 2.

So I ask, is this really a risk for Mayweather? Considering the size of both of them and the time spent in each division. People are saying they "are the same size" because of what weight they come in on fight night.. Oscar came in lighter then Pacquiao did for their fight and that didn't make him the smaller man.

At best Manny Pacquiao is a Super Featherweight and at best Mayweather is a Welter... or Jr. Welter (according to some of his fan boys)
Of course he's taking a risk, Pacman is the best fighter in the world, he carried his speed and power pretty damn well in WW, so it should be just as good, if not better at LWW, that is the best match-up to be made right now.

How do we know Floyd would come back at 147? Never mind fighting Margarito or Cotto?

                  I don't think he will.

like i said in the pacquaio vs floyd mayweather thread, i still rather see Mayweather vs Cotto/Margarito even though i think Pac beats floyd.

                      I agree

                      Like WTH! is going n

How can people have a problem with this fight.

Mayweather has always been the number 1 P4P while Pac has been 2nd

This is the fight that proves who the better fighter is
