it was a combination of Manny completely overwhelming him with his hard, quick shots, quick movement, crazy angles, etc AND Oscar did look drained though, you cant deny that. His legs looked like those of a prepubescent girl.

For all you DLH haters out there, relishing this beating we witnessed this past weekend. You need to understand boxing from a historical point of view.

What happened to DLH was no different than what happened to Ali vs Holmes, Leonard vs Norris or DLH vs Chavez.

It was a young lion taking out an old one. Nothing you can say can tarnish what DLH has done in the sport.....nothing.

He's and all time great and will go down as one of the best fighters of our generation. His accomplishments are what they are and even though it was tough seeing a younger, faster Pacquiao destroying him, it was only a matter of time.

DLH is done, there's no doubt about. He should retire and make a bigger impact on boxing as a promoter and try and do what's right for the sport. He has the smarts and the backup to do it. Time to get Arum and King out of the sport and clean it up and bring some relevance back to boxing.

As for the thread title, nope, it doesn't happen to everyone. Some fighters are smart enough to know when to get out of the game. Calzaghe (if he retires soon) and Lewis being examples of smart fighters who exited the game while on top.

It may not happen to everyone, but it certainly happens to at least 90% of great fighters.

I'm not sure if Oscar was shot or not. But I have been rewatching a lot of prime DLH and the man that was in that ring on the weekend would be lucky to last 2 rounds against him.

I could believe it and I didn't want to see it. I was reluctant on paying for the payperview but as always my homeboys called me and said let's pitch in. So I collected the money at the door and thought the worst.

I didn't see it coming like this but I knew DLH wasn't right.

Pac is a great fighter no doubt and I would rather see him fight someone like Hatton, that would be a much better fight.

As far as DLH at 160 vs Pac, I don't think it would have made a difference. We watched 3 great fighters colapse this year and it wasn't pretty. Watching Roy Jones get beaten up, Trinidad get beaten up and now DLH. It's ugly but it's part of the game.

I don't know it would have made a difference, all I am saying or talking about is how DLH looked fight night. Not arguing the outcome. I really can't say for sure one way or the other what the outcome would have been. Hindsight though I would still pick Manny to win maybe just not the way it ended. Not discrediting Manny either he looked great.

But when you go into a fight drained as DLH did you already go in with a huge disadvantage and then you have the age difference.

The funny thing about it when I found out about the fight I honestly thought DLH was an ***** for taking the fight over a smaller guy....but man do those 20mil sure look good in his bank account now....so it really doesn't matter...
but then that is another thread all in its entirety...I will just leave it at that.
