I picked pacquiao to win, if I had an account at my betting website. I would have put money on it too.

There have been many instances when a fighter goes from a bit past his prime to shot in the matter of one fight. A few examples:

Fernando Vargas - Looked good against Mosley in the first fight, and lost on a stoppage when the fight was as close to even as it could be. Then the rematch came, and he lost every minute of every round, and got KO'd by a much smaller fighter without a lot of power. He clearly went from a bit past it to shot in the matter of one fight.

Jose Luis Castillo - He did not look great, but got a good win, albeit close, over Herman Ngoudjo. Then he fought Ricky Hatton, and got crushed. He didn't land any significant punches, and his balance was horrible. He fell over so many times without being pushed or punched hard, it was ridiculous. He went from a bit past it to shot in the matter of one fight as well.

Erik Morales - Being a Pac fan, you can certainly see the difference in the Morales that fought Pacquiao in the rematch compared with the one that came in for the rubber match. Morales lost the rematch because he was worn down by a lot of good Pacquiao work in the early rounds, but he did have a lot of good moments in the earlier rounds. In the rubber match, Morales's balance was terrible, he couldn't take Pacquiao's punch to save his life (although he was never as hurt as he was in the previous two fights, which says something about his ability as a fighter in the third fight) and didn't have any good moments. He went from a bit past it in the second fight to completely shot in the third fight.

Those are a few examples of a fighter coming into a fight, and completely surprising everyone with how little he had left. Don't kid yourself... Oscar De La Hoya was shot in the Pacquiao fight. Regardless, it's still a great, great win, considering how Pacquiao jumped two weight classes and dominated in such a thorough fashion.

I really hope you Pacquiao fans learn to take this victory with a dose of reality.

because Oscar was expected to come in at close to 160 on fight night and be able to juggernaut his way through anything Manny threw at him similar to how Margarito was able to juggernaut his way through anything Cotto threw at him simply because of size.
