Juanma Wants Israel Vazquez, May Settle For Penalosa

WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez wants the best at his weight, but he doesn't think that anyone is looking to fight him at the moment. Last weekend on the De La Hoya-Pacquiao undercard in Las Vegas, Juanma went right through Sergio Medina in one round. He wants a tougher test in 2009 like Israel Vazquez, Rafael Marquez or Celestino Caballero. Juanma plans to make a mandatory defense of his title in March. [details]

But Penalosa won't settle for him.

He showed some flaws against Hugo Dianzo but he's gotten better, i think once these top guys get him out of the first few rounds Lopez will have a very tough fight on his hands. He's a big guy for his weight, i think we'll see him one day at 130. He keeps ko'ing everybody so lets see him up against the elite.

Vasquez v. Lopez is going to be bombs away. But Marquez v. Lopez will be a very close heated boxing match or it could be bombs away as well Rafa ain't shy to throw guns either.

I dunno about that. I wouldn't make a for sure bet on these. For one we don't know if the trilogy took anything away from those two and JuanMa hasn't been in against someone like either one of them.

You better hope Lopez has some other weapon besides the right hook when he steps in with those guys.
