    Dhop fills in for Torres

    Holt to face Hopkins!
Contender Demetrius Hopkins of Philadelphia will step in and replace Ricardo Torres and take on world champion Kendall Holt at the historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on Saturday. Bob Arum, celebrating his 77th birthday today, made the announcement. Caesars Atlantic City is hosting the big fight card. Top Rank matchmaker Bruce Trampler said that Torres was ill during training camp, missed workouts and reported he was not in the proper condition to take on Holt for the third time. Hopkins, who was scheduled to be on the undercard, was moved to the main event today. Hopkins, 28, has a record of 28-0-1. Hopkins and his manager, Cameron Dunkin, finalized the deal today. "Demetrius is prepared and ready to fight for the title," Dunkin said. Yuri Foreman will open the Showtime telecast, taking on James Moore in a battle of New York City fighters. The fight card will include the powerful Russian Olympian Matt Korobov.

Hopkins by a boring close decision.

This to me is a more interesting matchup than a third Torres fight. This is a very tough matchup for Holt who was looking forward to a very different kind of fighter.

This is a good replacement considering the time.

I still have a dislike for Hopkins after that horrendous gift he got over Forbes.

D-Hop has skills, but I don't see him as A class yet. Holt will win.

Im my mind Holt has been very underrated. Holt will win this fight by comfortable decision and if he comes in a fighting spirit he might stop D-Hop.

Holt's problem is that he's either on or he's off. There is no middle ground. If he can maintain his focus for three minutes of every round and establish his jab, he'll win this one with room to breathe.
