Oscar is NOT shot. That's all I know. He ain't quite what he used to be, but some don't know the meaning of the word "shot". Pac destroyed him. **** the excuses.

Gonna post what I wrote in another thread concerning DLH-Cotto.
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oscar was just standing there, and his punches didn't have much steam on them, maybe one or two here and there. His face was swollen from Pacquiao's left, and Cotto has a quick and very authoritative left jab, not to mention he switches to southpaw at times. I just see him getting taken apart quicker, especially when you consider how little Pacquiao was able to get him on the ropes. There is not doubt that Pacman's speed and constant movement confused Oscar and had him unprepared for the straight left, but Cotto is a fast ring technician that searches for opening and finds it.

i dont think oscar can handle any of the elite (manny obviously, floyd, cotto, margarito). to be honest, i think the best de la hoya can do is beat the alfonos gomez and steve forbes of the world but thats just my opinion.

He wouldn't be fighting higher than 147 against those guys. I doubt Cotto or Margarito will go to 154, but then again if the money is right I am not so sure.

I watched it on a horrible quality video so

Unless he's fighting Jesus Christ himself, who's REALLY going to pay to see Oscar fight again?

                  He's done, guys.

Forget the Manny fight and just remember how he looked against Forbes. And then try to remember that Freddie Roach said he KNEW after that fight that "Oscar can't pull the trigger anymore."

Who would be a reasonable opponent for him?
Marg and Cotto stop him at 147
But above 147 there are less big names, so.

I dont think Oscar is definitely finished either but our opinions differ on the fight. Oscar simply was weight drained and had no gas in the tank. Oscar has faced faster fighters than himself before......Whittaker, Mosley, Mayweather and has acquitted himself well even when losing, though excellent boxing.

To be honest the Mosley that fought Oscar in 2000 was even faster than the Pacquiao of Saturday. Oscar showed all the hallmarks of an overtrained, weight drained fighter, just like Leonard looked against Norris or Ali against Holmes or Jones against Johnson.

That flat look, the lack of throwing punches back (particularly in the seventh), the poor reactions were not classic Oscar. Remember how he blasted back at Quartey, Vargas, Gatti and Mayorga after taking surely harder shots than Manny's. He was either weight drained or became shot overnight. My bet is weight drained!

If Oscar returns at light middle we might be suprised how much better he looks, for as long as the Pacquiao fight has not damaged him.
