The difference between Calzaghe and De La Hoya (and probably applies to Hopkins and RJJ too) is that Joe is STILL hungry. American superstars live the dream in splendour and believe their own publicity. Calzaghe is still in a ****ty gym with a leaky roof. He still trains the same way with the same trainer and has never changed what works for him.
No matter what they might say, its hunger and heart that make a boxer, and the very things that drove many greats onto their success ebbs away with every gold watch they buy.
When the going gets tough, some great millionnaire boxers see their gold tapped bath waiting for them back home, Calzaghe just gets madder and more hungry to succeed.
Boxers should retire as soon as that hunger leaves them, and leave the money alone.
Age didnt beat De la Hoya, he beat himself....Does anyone see Pacman looking less hungry????
