  • Andrei Arlovski to start boxing

Can he make any noise in the heavyweight division a few years down the road? He's an MMA guy who's stepping up to fight the best in the world, Fedor Emelianenko, in January. He's got stand up skill in MMA from what I saw. If you haven't seen this guy before he looks like a great athlete. 6'4" 240, no fat on him. Plus he's trained by one of the best, Freddie Roach.

i thought he was making his debut in the casa/jmm undercard, what happened? he has great hands and footwork, but seems to wobble at every flush shot he receives.

I thought Arlovski was going to fight Fedor in MMA soon?

A heavyweight?? Hope he brings prosperity to an awfully boring weight class.

I'm actually commending him to crossing over to boxing. A lot of MMA have a hard time fighting conventional boxing.

I haven't seen the guy fight but from what I have read over the last few months is the guy is a smart and powerful fighter. I also hear that hes pretty chinny. If you have bad whiskers and you are in the heavyweight division its going to be tough. He will probably have difficulty but who knows.

Here is a vid of some light sparring and padwork at the end.

              He's a good striker.

For his chin: Not the greatest but in fairness, MMA gloves are tiny.

Arlovski is a very good striker in MMA but there is a big difference between being a good striker in MMA and being a good boxer, it'll be interesting to see how he does though.
