After watching pascal v froch last night, i have to say froch would be murdered by calzaghe. I am a fan of both but the way froch was gassing by the middle to late rounds last night, i just cant see any way he could keep calzaghe off.
I know froch was putting a lot into them early rounds, however he was shagged by the fifth onwards. He was literally stumbling into his corner by the late rounds. I have had the opinion that froch was a bit of a ****er, yet pascal took some flush shots no probs last night, this alone and with calzaghes previous outings, makes me think calzaghe could take these all night long. Now add in calzaghes astonishing fitness and by the late rounds i just cant see a way past calzaghe for froch.
Ok calzaghe is no longer a ****er but his ring craft and phenomenal work rate! i see a calzaghe masterclass in the making.
This brings me onto my final point. We see froch previously calling for calz, but what sort of legacy does this leave calzaghe if he was to consider a fight with froch at this stage? We know it would have an amazing reception in the uk and would have amazing figures in terms of watchers, especially if it was to be shown on the normal terrestrial ITV and not box office.
Me personally, i cant see the point after last night. I just think calzaghe is a real class above him, however the other options, hopkins or dawson. Dawson to most, certainly in the uk just isn't the draw froch v calzaghe is and calzaghe doesn't do rematches.
Opinions?
Btw i'm drunk so forgive the jumbled up posting and spelling mistakes
