    middleweight 80s v 90s

the 80s are known as the golden days of middleweight boxing, but i think the early mid 90's gang was just as good,

    hagler v jones
    duran v benn
    leonard v mcclennan
    hearns v eubank

Who would win these fights, i think the 90's would come out overall winners!

    prime jones would beat hagler
    duran would beat benn
not sure about mcclennan and leonard
    and hearns would beat eubank

there was a very different style of fighting between the 80s and 90s, IMO the 80s depended a lil more on decisions whilst in the 90s they were all about the TKO

Hagler Jones depends on whether the fight goes 15 or 12 and whether Jones can stay away from Hagler for long enough. I think Hagler would finally catch up to Roy and TKO him late. Jones wouldn't hurt Marvin. It could also possibly be a Jones UD if it went 12...

        Benn beats Duran at middle.

        McClellan beats SRL at middle.

        Hearns beats Eubank at middle.

Jones beats hagler, with marvin chasing him around the ring. Alot of ppl underestimate jones' power, because he does have good power. Although he wont hurt hagler, he mite take some of haglers legs with some body shots. BUt if hagler cathces jones with a good shot to the chin, and follows up with combos to the body. Jones loses all his confidence and the fight.

Prime Roy beats Hagler. Sorry - Hagler was a great warrior and a technician to boot, but Roy would box circles around him just like he did Hopkins.

I haven't seen anyone in my past 30 years or so of watching boxing at middle, super-middle or light heavy who could take a prime Roy. Maybe SR Robinson could have, but I never saw him live...

1)Hagler vs. Jones - Jones in his prime could keep away from Hagler's power. A boxing Jones cruises to UD.
2)Duran vs Benn- Would be a tough bout but Duran was not in his prime as a middleweight. I'd have to say Nigel by late round TKO.
3)Sugar Ray Leonard vs Gerald "G-man" McClellan - Gerald was a freak of nature at Middleweight and would definately cause Ray problems with his hand speed and power. Ray would win the first 7 rounds but would take some punishment in the process. Gerald would catch Ray on the chin in the Tenth and Ray wouldn't be able to recover and complete a stunning come from behind TKO victory.
4)Hearns vs Eubank - Hearns was not at his prime as middleweight but would be able to keep Chris at bay with his jab and outbox him and finally finish him off with a wicked right cross in the 9th round.

I have been watching a few of SRR's fights recently and the guy was amazing, I know a lot of his fights would have been easy for him but believe me he is worthy of the hype 'truly amazing'. I agree with all your comments above and it's nice to see Jones get credit for a change, I think Jones matches SRR skill for skill but if you watch SRR in action there is just somthing about him that is so special, I think for all the stick Jones has got lately I will also risk a lot of stick with this comment, and that is that I think a prime Jones V a Prime SRR at middleweight would have been the greatest matchup of all time and I only wish I could see it. I bet Jones wishes he stayed at 168 but you got to credit the guy for trying.

                    no james toney

                    or hopkins

                    anyway

                    jones would beat hagler
hagler wouldnt catch jones and if he did he wouldnt have hurt him unless he caught him with a few good shots or one thatw as enough to drop him

i think if hagler gets real close jones covers up and let hagler
                    go crazy
but jones at middle had enough speed and power to hurt hagler
