It was more like Oscar kept himself afloat. If Oscar's popularity really had an impact on boxing, then why is boxing having issues with attracting new fans? If anything boxing has turned away fans.

Oscar's popularity had no trickle down effect, unless the fighter was fighting him. Otherwise, boxing continues to struggle.

Tiger broke color barriers, Tiger influenced people who otherwise wouldn't even have bothered to pick up a golf club. Sales picked up for golf equipment. Tiger not only impacted N.
