First off Manny is a beast. He is not overhypped. He made a much bigger man that had previously only been stopped by Bernard hopkins and gave him the worst beating of his life. Manny is the real deal who has alot of speed, alot of power, alot of stamina, and alot of toughness. He hits his target and they may have found something fighting around 140. Hes so strong at that weight. Now top 3 ATG is borderline ridiculous. Ok first off what Roy Jones did beating John ruiz is more impressive given that John was the a champion and Oscar is about a #12 contender at 147. But besides that, there are so many more boxers who have done more and were more dominant than him. Now hes been beaten by Morales, JMM gave him great fight. Lets see how he fights at 140. Let see him beat Hatton, Lets see him beat Floyd at 140. He does that, and I will give him top 10 for sure and I will start breaking down the top 5 and see if he belongs. But top 3 right now is definately pre mature. He is currently the best in boxing. But Calzaghe, and Hopkins just came off wins that were just as impressive, and against better fighters, but they were the same size. Regardless top 3 no, but he is on his way if he beats hatton, Timothy Bradley and meayweather.Comment

Manny P is the real deal!
Many have wrongly predicted the outcome of this "Dream Match". But now it's time to admit that those who have underrated this great fight and this fighter ever since he came to Las Vegas to fight. Many boxing's "afficionados" are crediting his success only for fighting older, retiring guys like Morales, Barrera and now the "Golden Boy" of Boxing, Oscar D.H. All of this guys are all great boxers and future hall of famers but it so happened that they crossed the path of this one humble peasant from the Philippines, that made their retirement early as it should not been.
This guy fight really with his heart, with the weight of the whole nation struggling politically, that has crippled almost its citizens' hope for change.
He knows in himself that he is the figure of a glimmering hope of his countrymen, who until now is divided politically and being corrupted by them.
But let us just forget where he came from, for the love of boxing, Manny Paquiao is the "real deal" today and deserves the title he now holds. Don't blame Oscar's age that is why he was defeated or any other weight reasons.
You can bring anybody with him and he will give us all a great pound-for-pound fight. He will not run away from the ring or play around with his opponent. Every time he fights, excitement, thrills, satisfaction always follows and he will give you a run for your money. He will surely be boxing's top-grosser this coming months. Be it Hatton or Mayweather, if he comes out of retirement, he will all eat them alive just like Morales, Barrera, Diaz and Dela Hoya. Watch for it.Comment

the hype and promotion for the fight was excellent. It was so good that it convinced even the experts that it would be a fight; I never bought it. Oscar has been involved in great "events" lately not fights and how could we expect more from him. Oscar puts asses in seats, pretty much the way tyson did while he was fighting out of his prime. I think Freddie Roach said it best, "Oscar is a part-time fighter."
The fight pretty much went as I expected, with De la hoya getting beat down. Honestly, I didn't expect him to get stopped. AFter the weigh-in it was a done deal. It gave evidence that Oscar was training to make weight, not to win a fight. The fight was lost when it was signed, but nobody believed me.
I expected more common sense from members on this site, but see there are no "students of the game' on here, only fans, which is short for fanatics who no nothing whatsoever about boxing...
Check my recent posts, I told you people !!!Comment

To mention Pacquiao in the same breath as Robinson, Armstrong, Pep, Ali, etc is sacriledge to the sport. He did a great thing bye beating a SHOT fighter 2 weight classes higher than his last fight, but lets leave it there. I am taking NOTHING away from Manny's greatness. He showed heart that no other fighter is willing to do (with the exception of the multi-division fighting Williams), but lets not get carried away. Pacquiao aint top 5, top 20, hell he aint even top 50. He is definately the best fighter now even if Mayweather returns, but I am not about to go there with the ATG ****. Best fighter of all time from the Pacific Rim, YES. ATG, ABSOLUTELY NOT.Comment

Robinson is the greatest P4P ever & the best welter of ATG to mention Pacquiao with him is a bit over the top maybe people feel that way after last night but he beat a shot fighter last night as for the likes of Pep he would have to hunt him down Pep would counter slip but that's not to say Pacquiao wouldn't give him a good fight he would be 1 of the Great little men of ATG but there are too many greats to put in there before Pacquiao.
