Give credit to anyone who has the guts to step into the ring. That's something you hear all the time when fighters talk about their peers. It's a matter of respect. Right now there doesn't seem to be that same respect stuff swirling around Oscar De La Hoya as he prepares to take on the smaller Manny Pacquiao. De La Hoya, who is fighting for the first time below 150 lbs since 2001, weighed in on Friday at 145. Manny Pacquiao, fighting at 130 lbs. for seven of his last eight fights, came in at 142. Plenty of fighters think DLH is a joke.
Many fighters are calling De La Hoya a joke

as much as some may say that the size difference isn't that much or that its gonna be closer than we all think, as other fighters are the ones that step between the ropes, I would have to agree with the majority. 5 or 10 pounds + a couple of inches in hieghth and reach is a big deal for some of them.Comment

DLH's response to the fight being a lose-lose situation was GARBAGE. what the **** did he say? something like "this is what i need right now. a fight where there is nothing to gain to motivate me..." how the **** does a fight with no reward motivate you.. just say it already you want the pay day.
and he also said hed be willing to fight margarito its just that it wouldn't be an event. im sure he was banking on cotto winning and making that a mega fight. just shows that hes full of **** though because he said earlier he didnt want to fight him because "he didnt wanna fight another mexican"Comment
