Abregu Survives Estrada, Kauffman Stops Farrell

By Cliff Rold - In a serious step-up fight at Welterweight, 25-year old Carlos Abregu (25-0, 21 KO) of Argentina avoided defeat and picked up some violent lessons along the way, surviving a game late assault by 29-year old David Estrada (22-5, 13 KO) of Miami, Florida on Friday night at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California. Both men weighed in one pound over the division limit at 148. The referee was David Mendoza. [details]

another terrible mark on boxing. estrada clearly won 5 rounds with the last 2 rounds being 10-8 possible material. abregu ran his ass off literally ran and was hurt badly in them. he also was knocked down twice on debatable no calls. yet 1 judge gave estrada only one round. he should be fired on the spot. is boxing one giant scam? looks that way a lot of the time.

close fight. not sure estrada 'clearly' won the last five, but he was coming on stronger as the fight went on. that last round should have been 10-8 for sure.

i didn't score it though, so i can't really comment on the scoring.

Yeah the Estrada fight was close, him winning it def. doesn't classify as a "robbery." The judging was clearly suspect though.

I thought Travis Kauffman looked great for his first time fighting on TV and he showed the World that he can adjust to different styles.
The first round was clearly a slip as shown in the replay. I am sure that we have a future star in the making!
I can not wait to see this young man again on TV.

            Robbery

Poor Estrada. Coming into the fight, I really hoped to see what Abregu had to offer. I've heard so much about the guy that I really had high hopes about him. But after the 6th round, I def wanted Estrada to bust him up . I really didn't like his fighting style. Plus there was a KD on the last round where Abregu put his glove on the canvas. Estrada won that fight and ****** judges need to have a cornea transplant or something.:****you:
