Knowrisk: margarito's destruction of cotto showed me he would never beat mayweather

The minute Cotto took this fight I knew it was a bad "style match-up" for him. I wondered who was going to have the better "body" attack. And being that Cotto has a "soft" mid-section, it was hard to figure out who would win that battle. Cotto tends to recover fairly quick (most of the times) when he is rocked. So I wondered if this would be the same in this match. I wondered if Marg would be able to deal with Cotto's versatility. And lastly, I wondered who would WILT under the others pressure. All these questions were answered. But I also came to the realization that Marg would have never beat Mayweather. Cotto was successful using a "boxing" style against Marg until he ran out of gas and Marg "walked him down. One of the main reasons for that was, even though Cotto CAN box, Cotto is more of a brawler. He would box opponents out. of WANT and not NECCESSITY. Mayweather IS a boxer. He is not goin to "wear out" fighting Marg by using a "boxing" style. Hell, he doesn't even throw enugh punches to wear out. If a brawler could win rounds by "boxing", what do you thin a "boxer" would do? Not to mention this being one of the best "boxers" in the sport today. Coulpled with some of the best defense in the game., it would be a LONG frustrating night for Marg.

    I have to agree..

It would also be a long BORING fight IMO...

Mayweather circling, potshottin, and grappling/clinching would frustrate the hell out of Margarito and make him swing even more wildly and missing and gettin hugged up..ugghh..I'd turn that **** off!...lol

Ever since this fight ended PBF stans have been screamin about how neither Marg or Cotto could beat him. Let it go. He's retired. He ain't interested in findin out how he'd do against these guys so nobody else should be either.

Yeah a lot of us realized this when watching him fight Clottey & Williams. Even when Cintron kept his distance and boxed from the outside, he hit Margarito and made him miss. The thing is that Margarito gets stronger and throws more as the fight reaches middle rounds, and many of his opponents can start to slip up and get tired. But I don't see this happening to Floyd he is too smart ,and mentally too strong.

Very likely,. but Marg is so damn easy to hit Floyd would end up making it a much more fun watch, if he wasn't over cautious that is.

I really dont get it either, they're trying to give him credit for something he never had the balls to accomplish. He had the option of stepping up but he walked away instead.

yeah, Floyd would win unless he breaks his hand on Marg's thick skull sometime during the early rounds. If that happened Money might be in trouble

cotto is not a brawler who boxes.he's a text book boxer puncher.
he's been more lenient on "brawling" against quicker fighters becuase it was to his advantage.

yeah, but i think cotto is more of a puncher boxer... and cotto is used to being stronger than his opponent
