HBO has said they want less PPVs next year, around 4-5 compares to 10 this year so they seem to be keeping their word for now.
January 17 HBO card is looking good

Collazo? a test? don't get me wrong Collazo has respect in my eyes but to even suggest that he will be a challenge for Berto is absurd. what is Collazo's claim to fame? ALMOST beating Ricky Hatton in a weight he clearly isn't **** at? he didn't even fight back against Shane.. this wont be nothing different different than what Miguel Cotto been doing, fighting notable and respected solid names except he has went to war with more than what Berto has, however Collazo wont even phase Berto, mark my words he wont. Collazo isn't what a lot of you think, I read in some of the Cotto threads "Miguel could have fought even Collazo" as if to say something with that but Collazo only brings a notable name to the mix while Jennings brings a world title. this isn't about Cotto though, Collazo wont make it to the later rounds, I don't view this as a test to Berto because IMO Collazo can't hurt him and it will only be a matter of time before Andre sits him down..Andre Berto 23 - 0 - (19KO) vs Luis Collazo 29 - 3 (14KO)
Sergio Martinez 44 - 1 (24KO) vs Joe Greene 20 - 0(14KO)
Berto will finally get the test people have been waiting for when he faces the experienced ex title holder Luis Collazo. This will be a fight that will show what Berto is really made of and will be a nice gauge whether he is ready for the big boys at 147.
Martinez is coming off a spectacular win against Alex Bunema on B.A.D last October, Joe Greene is undefeated and but hasn't faced anyone near the level of Martinez.
These are the type of fights that boxing needs and HBO should put on their network more often, this along with Margarito vs Mosley makes January a nice month for boxing fans to look forward too.
as for Mean Joe Greene I can't say the same. he hasn't really fought no one of any caliber yet so Martinez can surprise him. I think it will be a good tough effort on Martinez's part but something tells me Greene will be too strong. Greene's defense is questionable, he gets hit back for sure, however he has shown a tendency to overpower, somewhat like Jeff Lacy before Joe Calzaghe beat him and he may just force the fight out of Martinez, which he would win. Martinez's only chance here IMO is to use his experience and don't feed into the brawl that Greene will bring to him, keep him off and Box the day away but I feel once he tries to just sit there and **** with Greene he will fall. see Greene is a limited fighter, IMO a notch below Kirkland so he can definitely blow Martinez back and Martinez himself hasn't fought exactly ALL of the best fighters neither, a lot of his record is padded too.
I see both Berto and Greene winning these fights in impressive form, I would be genuinely surprised if they lose and I'll be looking to bet come January.. 100Comment

Joe Greene was bring brought along slowly. I wanted to see him step up but this is too much imo. I assume Martinez will make him look silly and ruin the kid's careerComment
