Calzaghe doesn't deserve Fighter of the Year. Quality of wins and performance is much more important than name recognition.

RJJ hadn't done anything impressive in the ring 5 years. Darchinyan knocked out 2 world title-holders, in their primes, including a dominating win over a top 10 ranked p4p fighter who was a strong candidate for fighter of the year going on.

Margarito impressively stopped two prime world title-holders in the best division in the sport. One of them was an undefeated, top 10 ranked p4p fighter.

The achievements of those 2 are easily better than Calzaghe winning a close, ugly win over an aging (but still very good) Hopkins and a 2008 version of Jones.

Props to Margarito for filling in most of this ****!..I still don't like his style..but his accomplishments are there..no doubt about it..

and I picked his KO over Cintron as the "KO of the year"..for the simple fact that after he dropped him wit a body shot..he kept waving his hands urging Cintron to get back up..CLASSIK!..haha!
