Most feel he didn't lose V Trinidad either. He has fought so many, whereas Joe has fought anbd beat nobody convincingly in thei rprime. You mention the whitaker fight when many thought Joe lost ot Hopkins and got put on his arse by a severely shot RJJ which eh amde out was a big fight! Even then he looked **** and just worked away with lots of slaps hitting gloves and body but very rarely did he do any real damage, unlike the GREAT (by Brit standards!) Glen Johnson! Lol. Joe's biggest dominant win was V Kessler who is largely unproven outside Europe/Denmark! Foreget what Oscar has not done or won, at least he foguth some motherufckers. Joe got a CBE from the Queen and I heard he asked her if she can be his net opponent, lol.

It's a tough question to answer honestly, I guess it comes down to what your preferences are in how you rank fighters.

What does this have to do with Roy Jones? I started this thread as an Oscar fan confused as to how ppl can rate Calzaghe over him in terms of their ATG status. Roy has nothing to do with it aside from the fact that he is in Joe's top 5 wins.
Ok, I'll indulge this. You imply that there is considerable distance between Joe & Oscar. I can see no evidence to support this argument. As mentioned earlier, I find it extraordinarily difficult to place any substantial distance between most ATGs (the exclusions being those fighters who go "beyond" ATG i.e. Ali, Robinson, Duran etc.) - (the main) reason being the many and varied reasons for labelling fighters such).

It's impossible to make like-for-like comparisons between Oscar & Joe. They are completely different fighters fighting at different weights, under different politics, working within different social and cultural environments and constraints, with different fighting styles and facing different opponents etc. etc. What makes them both ATG is the fact that they have con****uously and unequivocally triumphed in the face of all this.

If you had attempted to address these complexities instead of offering little more than a sweep-of-the-hand proclamation I might not have seen you as a bitter Roy Hugger desperately seeking consolation in the opinions of others.

Oscar and Calzaghe are two of my favorite fighters ever, but there's no question who is better. Oscar at his best was never anywhere near Joe's level. It's not close, they;re like five levels apart. Calzaghe is the much better competitor and champion.

A win over Bhop trumps any win Oscar has in his whole entire career.
