that's the nature of the sports bro! why gave immediate rematch? is it worthy? manny can make more money by fighting worthy opponents. marquez should fight morales, morales has been calling him out many many many times... i bet marquez wont fight morales! thats for sure!

it doesn't matter because pac will be ruined after this fight w/ dlh anyways.

pac would rather fight hatton or dlh than jmm for the money obviously but also because a loss to them wont have as negative of an effect on his legacy as a loss to jmm in a rematch. if jmm were to defeat pac in a third bout he'd be remembered as the superior boxer by many as he was actually the older fighter of the two and didnt have a size advantage. If Pac truly cared about legacy he would silence the doubters by facing jmm again but he cares more about money these days. I think pac would rather take the vulture approach, he'd only consider a rematch until he's certain marquez's skills have declined significantly.

marquez was the one that turned down the original rematch smart guy.

hbo offered $1.5 million for the rematch. $750k a piece for jmm and pac. jmm turned it down.

the morales trilogy was very lucrative.

a rubber match with jmm is also lucrative but you can't fault manny for going after more money.

the only reason jmm is chasing pac is for the money also.

i don't remember him chasing down norwood or john for rematches. those fights were more of a robbery than either pac fight.

if jmm cared about legacy so much why not rematch john or norwood?

why not agree to an immediate rematch with pac back in 04?

fact is even a championship fight with casamayor didn't draw in the public.

he's only after manny for the money as well.

not anyone's fault that's the nature of being a pro fighter.

you do realize that jmm was suppose to fight erik before erik asked manny for a fight right?

jmm , as always , turned erik down because he wanted more money.

manny took the fight. that trilogy with erik is what made manny what he is.

it could have been jmm in manny's position right now but he ****ed up. if he had taken the immediate rematch with manny (i think he beats manny 'cause manny was more one-dimensional back then) and if he had accepted the morales fight and had a thrilling trilogy with erik like manny did , jmm could possibly be the #1 p4p right now AND be the cash cow of the lower weight classes. he has no one to blame but himself.

those loses were controversial, manny also suffered losses in the earlier part of his career but no one would suggest that a rematch with ring idol Torrecampo should take priority over a loss to someone of the caliber of morales. I agree that jmm and his team should have taken the rematch even if they were unhappy with the offer but jmm learned from the mistake and had been asking for an opportunity to redeem himself for years before pac finally granted him the rematch. there's debate about which of the two is the superior fighter, pac or jmm, and that debate will remain as long as pac avoids the rematch.
