Mayweather should have been DQed in the Hatton fight, but I made some serious pointage off that fight so meh.I'm watching the hatton fight, and i noticed that ****.whenever an opponent gets him against the ropes he throws elbows to get him off.tito use to do that **** to
but he use to lob his opponents head up like a pitch then he'd throw his right hand.seriously.i don't wanna hear any of cotto's detractors talk about fighting dirty.countless fighters got the dirty streak in them.chavez, hopkins, calzaghe,hatton,lewis,tyson,holyfield............. ...etc...........Comment

Hatton kept illegally holding and Mayweather kept using his elbows and forearms illegally to keep him from doing so. Money also uses that tactic for head control when in-fighting. Some times he'll lift the guys chin or move his head into a punching position.Comment

He definitely uses the elbows to create distance for his punches on the inside, but not really for any damage they do in and of themselves. It's at least partially a byproduct of his Philly shell guard, but there's no doubt it's an intentional tactic.Comment

Alot of fighters have their dirty tricks here and there.
Mayweather's dirty trick is the use of his elbows.
If he can get away with using it then why not....Comment

Mayweather was doing most of the holding, he was pot shotting Hatton and then holding.Comment

Correct. He does not throw them but it is not exactly legal either. The technique is an elbow/throat compressor (yes, just like the injury-or at least that's what I learned it as being called, I know there are all kinds of different names for these things).
It's very similar to a push off but with the advantages of keeping your profile low and keeping the shell defense maintained. If you look at as a push off (which is what it is) it is very similar to what Lennox Lewis did to Mike Tyson, actually taking two hands and shoving him back to create space and to avoid holding.Comment
