Flores has been training, to keep in shape, but not fighting shape. He has been travelling around trying to get good management. He got into a bad situation with a manager who said he was a promoter as well and lied. So through litigation he went. BJ was sparring with Teke Oruh and Friday Ahunanya the past month but I'm skeptical how well that was going since he told me Oruh looked great and yet he was whooped by Manuel Quezada this past weekend. Flores will be at the Cunningham/Adamek fight and to my knowledge has had that planned for a couple weeks. So I doubt he has been in it all that rough lately. He usually walks around at about 215 anyways, so losing that much weight in 4 days isn't going to help things. I figured he would get the call and that he would turn it down. He wants 3 weeks, and that is respectable. Im shocked he only asked for that short of time to be honest.

Even though Enzo is the cards headline fight, Amir Khan is the main attraction. They can't delay a show because they need to wait for some guy to get in shape. Enzo should just fight a bum.

He's not going to have a choice really and will be castigated for it. Which is a touch unfair. It's a pretty ****ty card now which is a damn shame as it was shaping up very nicely.

Enzo is now expected to face unbeaten Puerto Rican Francisco Palacios (16-0, 9KO’s).

Does anyone on here know this guy?

Never heard of him! Shame the Hide fight isn't happening, I'd have been up for that.

Never heard of him. I think this is going to be Enzo's Tocker Pudwill. Calzaghe's been getting **** for that for 10 years despite him being a very similar very very late replacement.

In boxing, if you're given a title shot, you better go and take it. There's no guarantees that a title shot will present itself again anytime soon. Filling in at the last minute is a part of boxing and it sounds like Flores was ready...

Also, it's a no-lose situation for Flores. He probably makes a good payday, and if he loses the fight; fans would realize that it was the short notice that affected him...

Anyways, is it possible that Enzo will face Herbie Hide?..

Let's be honest, this wasn't a real title shot. It was a decent fight against a contender in Maccarinelli. The real title fight is next Thursday's fight between Tomasz Adamek and Steve Cunningham. And BJ turned down the fight down before he was even given a monetary amount.
