Should the boxing community laugh at fighters that quit on their stools?

    Great, great fighters have quit on their stool, it's no shame to do so if you have nothing left.

    I don't think it's acceptable to quit in certain situations though. People are paying money to see the fights and betting money on the outcomes, if a fighter quits instantly when things are not going his way, he should be criticized for it.

      If someone is taking a bad beating, like De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao, Cotto vs. Margarito or Peter vs. Vitali, it's no shame to quit.

      But it was different with O'Neil Bell, who was losing the rounds but not getting badly beaten up by Adamek when he refused to go out for the 8th round. That really was a disgrace.
