this is why MMA is taking over Boxing in popularity.

I like bothsports equally if that suprises anyone but what is it about MMA that is making it so much more popular? Is it the fact that MMA has a real HW Champion? Is it the fact that the MMA is a hundred times more accessible to the working man than Boxing? What is your take on it?

      1. Its a sport where White people are highly successful at
      2. It caters to the most primal side of the human mind
      3. Society is changing in a sense that they want a product that can satisfy without having to thoroughly understand it.

I am pretty sure that your average boxing/MMA fan is also a fan of the other and is willing to watch both. Just because I like boxing more doesn't mean Im going to boycott watching MMA. You can be a fan of both you know. Most people are.

See and I find boxing just as primal as MMA but I also find MMA to be just as skillful as boxing if that makes any sense. I think it's just that right now MMA's owners actually market the sport where in boxing promoters dont care about marketing anything outside of their own fighters.

Ugh MMA has great cards in front of sold out crowds every month. When was the last time boxing had that kind of mainstream success? Im not knocking on boxing but as a huge boxing fan I will be the first person to blame it's lack of mainstream success on it's greedy promoters.

Its simply because its new, and boxing is old. In 50yrs time boxing will still be around....will MMA?? i m not sure. I m a fan of both (actually got tickets for UFC 95) but i think in 50yrs time, if MMA is still around, the hype will have died and it will be back on par with boxing....or forgotten about.
