That dumbass writer jealousy at its finiest.

      Magic - representing Blacks.

      Wayne - representing Whites.

      Delahoya - representing Mexican-Americans

And yet, his dumbass couldnt' figure it out. As if the people of Mexican heritage don't go to the Staple or arn't the majority in L.A, must hurt some people that a person of Mexican hertiage has a statue in front of stapels center along wtih other greats. And Delahoya is defintely a great, and to talk **** just because he fought 1 in staples did Magic ever play at the staple? wasnt' he retired? And Wayne wasn't he retired too and never played at staples? Delahoya did fight a few times at the Great Western Forum, which is now Staples Center. I guess in a city like L.A there shouldn't be any Mexican-American representation.

Too much jealousy in that article. Oscar is simply the face of boxing plain and simple.

Plascke is right that was a business deal. GBP will now hold a lot more fights at the Staples Center which makes all them more money. Makes $ense but it shouldn't have come at the disrespect of Magic and Wayne. Those 2 are talked about as being in the top 3-5 players in their sports De la Hoya is no where to found when it comes to the top 3-5 people in boxing history.
