And Wayne wasn't he retired too and never played at staples? Delahoya did fight a few times at the Great Western Forum, which is now Staples Center. I guess in a city like L.A there shouldn't be any Mexican-American representation.

Plascke is right that was a business deal. GBP will now hold a lot more fights at the Staples Center which makes all them more money. Makes $ense but it shouldn't have come at the disrespect of Magic and Wayne. Those 2 are talked about as being in the top 3-5 players in their sports De la Hoya is no where to found when it comes to the top 3-5 people in boxing history.
