    Bernard Hopkins as a Trainer??

Just watched the third episode of 24/7 and loved when hopkins appeared.
He gave advice to dlh and seems that he really knows what is going on on the ring.

I would love if hopkins decides after he retires to be a trainer, and if thats the case do you think he would be a good one??

i really think he will, i kinda feel that he gives a lot of confidence to people, even dlh said that, and thats because he is a guy you respect a lot and also because he knows what he is doing and the way he say things seem to be accurate and precise.

    opinions??

possibly.... but vaguely remember him and Nazeem saying he wouldnt be good cuz he'd be too demanding or impatient on fighters just learning the game

i could be thinking of someone else tho

B-Hop is an expert vs. southpaws, which is probly why Oscar asked his advice.

I thought about this before actually. I think he'd be a good trainer.

Most great fighters aren't very good pro trainers. They lack the patience. They don't understand why others aren't as fast as picking things up as they are.

I don't see Hopkins being the exception.

He certainly has the know how. Could he convey it? I imagine he would be quite demanding, but by the way he treated Pavlik after their fight maybe he'd be sharp enough to know when to crack the whip and when to give a kid a pat on the back and a small thumbs up so as not to break his spirit.

A trainer with B-Hops' street cred just need to sprinkle a tiny bit of sugar on the medicine to make his charges lap it up and virtually kill themselves in their attempts to earn even the smallest token of his approval...From the little glimpses of sentimentality that he lets slip out from time to time in his public persona, I'll guess that he has the love and therefore the patience to transmit his excellence to some lucky up and comers.

Imo, he should do it. If Hopkins becomes a promoter, he'll just end up being one more rich guy among many (and he's already a rich guy, right?). If he becomes a trainer, he has potential to resurrect excellence and maybe even dominance in the US boxing scene.
