For the record, Jennings is not a "typical euro fighter with a padded record"

he's just a domestic level champ

he's paid his dues and with his record i guess he deserves a shot at a title... but he's, frankly, just not good enough to make that step up from good British fighter to good world level fighter (not to write him off without giving him a chance - i'm actually a fan of the guy - but it is what it is)

i predict Cotto will beat the **** out of him, but i think all this criticism that is already surfacing saying he's another cash-cow eurobum with a padded record is just ******

Yea, I like Jennings but he doesn't have the power to even hold Cotto back. Cotto has the perfect style to pick Jennings apart just look at what Mutley did to him by pressurising him. I do think he will last to atleast round 6 vs Cotto hell he might suprise and last the distance, I wish him the best of luck vs Cotto he will definatly need it. I want to see Cotto revenge his only defeat!

      yes i agree

he is just not a world class fighter

domestic level fighter who is somehow getting a shot at a world title

he should be getting a nice payday too for this fight

i dont think he will see the 5th round unless Cotto wants to get some rounds in and try a few different things out

It's a warm up fight did people really expect Cotto to be facing anyone who could beat him?

To give people an idea of Jenkins level, I think Hatton would give him a close fight.

        Matthew Hatton that is.

I want Matthew Hatton to step up to World Class it would be nice for him to have a crack at it, he must be freezing his arse off in Ricky's shadow. Even if he obviously got nailed he could still say he done it.

Did you hear Ray Hatton 'We've had tests done and yes he is actually my son'......lol, that's not really funny. I swear he didn't even watch him fight Ben Tackie.

Kell Brook will knock lil Matthew out, so he'll probably not get to fight a world class opponent,

Good thread btw. I'm tired if people bashing fighters who are good fighters but obviously not world class. He has had good competitive fights and has done well at the level he fought at. Now he is having a crack at a world class fighter, well done Michael Jennings.

              yeah i caught that lol

i think it was more in reference to the Man City vs Man Utd thing though

and, yeah, i just think Jennings deserves some respect and the Americans seem to be jumping to conclusions and classing him as a Khan type figure

He beat the guy who beat Action Jackson
And there has to be some way he's climbed to #2 in the WBO rankings.

Cotto-Jennings reminds me a lot of Pavlik-Lockett. The result will be similar.
