closer than i thought it would be, Joe was winning rounds but they were close gruelling competitive rounds. Eubank was holding his own

Great fight that was, Joe hit alot harder back then aswell. To the guy that said Benn would have had him well i doubt that, Calzaghe would have stood up to his power and out boxed him.

          never!!!!!

          prime benn was invincible.

it's a known fact that nigel was poisoned during the watson , collins and eubank fights.

a healthy , unpoisoned nigel benn would have easily beat them.

Great fight. Joe really proved his worth that night.

Benn is probably my favourite fighter of all time but Joe would've beaten him I think. He would've beaten Collins and Watson too I'd assume. The only guy who might've given Joe big trouble from that era is Herol Graham.

              I'd disagree with that.

I reckon out of all of the fighters mentioned, Michael Watson IMO would have had the best chance of beating Calzaghe.

People forget how good of a boxer Michael Watson was.

eubanks was never a player on the world scene. only in brittain.
ive seen how you guys have stretched his acomplishments. sheesh
the same can be said of hamed.

i remember in the'90 watching a fight on tv and they played clips of who i at that time didnt know was eubanks. the announcers on tv and the guys i was watching with had a good laugh.foreman who was one of the announcers was laughing so hard that he accidently hit himself in the head with the microphone.

i loved that foto of eubanks dressed up as a lawn jockey statue! ha ha ha .

a prime calzaghe against a prime eubanks cal wins hands down. no question!

I've watched Eubank, Benn and Calzaghe many times, and there's no way Eubank would have beaten JC, even at his peak. Nigel Benn was a massive hero of mine, esp. in the McClellan fight, but he too wouldn't have beaten Joe, even though i'd have loved him to.

Joe looked good. Its fair to say that Joe was a roy jones fan after watching that first round.
