    Style matchups are so weird...

    For instance:

Take the quad matchups of Tarver, Jones Jr., Griffin and Reggie Johnson.

Even though Tarver and Jones both beat both Griffin and Reggie Johnson, they were in completely different ways.

Jones had a very tough time with Griffin the first time they fought, and Tarver beat Griffin as convincingly as humanly possible (120-106 X3).

On the other hand, Jones Jr. crushed Reggie Johnson in the same convincing way (120-106 X3) and Tarver barely managed a split decision over Reggie Johnson.

    Weird to think about.

It's like paper, rock, scizzors. The Rock beats the scizzors. The scizzors beat the paper. And the paper beats the Rock.

Thought I'd give you a response.

Tarver fought both those guys years after Roy fought them, he fought Griffin six years after Griffin fought Roy which Im sure didnt help Griffin's case. But you would approach Roy and Tarver differently anyway. I dont like to just say styles make fights, because it really comes down to the particular fighter also. In that sense, fighters make fights.
