    Nelson v Morales,Barrera,Pac

Nelson v Morales,Barrera,Pac it would of been interesting to see how these guys would have dealt with the old Professor cause Nelson could actually punch like Pac and he had a solid chin and he was a warrior

i got Barrera outboxing him Nelson did not cope well with lateral movement imo and Barrera could use these tactics and box to a game plan whilst countering effectively and fighting in spurts etc

Morales v Nelson would of been a complete war cause Morales has always been very easy to hit ive seen him tagged lots of times throughout his career right back from when he beat Zaragoza etc,i think Nelson would have a relatively good chance of stopping Morales but then again Morales did adapt more when he faced Pac the first time so he could outbox Nelsoni guess,i still got Nelson though Morales gets hit too much imo and Nelson hits hard

Pac v Nelson would be very hard fight aswell cause allthough Nelson showed his limitation against a Southpaw in Whitaker,Pacman is no Whitaker and he might not be cute enough to stay away from Nelson allthough he could outspeed Nelson and flurry to a decision but he does like to mix it up too so he could get drawn in

im split on Nelson v Pac cause Pac could outspeed Nelson and with his new better more refined Boxing he may pull off a decision

I think Nelson would have been too much for all of these guys at 130.

Nelson was very physically strong as well as being a sound boxer at his peak. At 126 I think he eventually overwhelms Marco, who did not perform very well against strong, high energy opponents. Similar to the Gomez fight. Gomez, as you'll remember, was an excellent boxer himself. Nelson was throwing these wild bursts at him, overpowering him and throwing shots from odd angles. Later he busted his ass with right hands and kept that high energy attack going. The adjustments he made in that fight were great.

Morales and Pacquiao take him the distance at 126. Pacquiao could match firepower a little better, but I think Nelson's extreme strength and (later) ability to slip/counter would give him the edge. Morales' chin as well as his ability to box/brawl would help him in a fight with Nelson. Those long right hands would be effective, as well as short left hooks or uppercuts when Nelson would look to get inside (he would lunge in sometimes).

Azumah was great, one of my very favorite fighters. The performance against Sal was incredible for such a raw fighter, and the evolution of his career has been fun for me to go back and review. I just wish a Sanchez rematch could have happened. Too bad what happened to Sal.

      Nice thread, Terrible.

I agree that Nelson probably beats all three as well - I suspect he stops Pacquaio who can be hurt and is relentless enough to keep walking into shots.

Out of Morales, Pac and Barrera I think Morales would've given him the most trouble simply because of his wingspan. But in order to beat a prime Azumah...ugh...I don't even know how you do that.

I always remember reading about Azumah Nelson. From those articles, I always liked him.

          Great warrior, great guy.

I'd have to watch more fights of his to truly gauge this.
