I hope regardless of this saturday night that Manny & Hatton get it on. That fight would rule the world. Dunno if Pac could handle the power but then not sure if Hatton could handle the speed?

Always a terrific idea to be looking forward to the future 5 days before you fight a guy who's career high weight is 25 pounds higher than your career high weight.
Concentrate Manny, or you are seriously going to get your ass kicked.Comment

Mayweather by ownage.
I'm sorry to say there's a lot more to boxing than speed, and reading into things on face value just doesn't work in boxing. Remember putting 2 fighters up against each other at 2 different weights is NOT P4P in the ring.
There's a reason for boxing weights, and there's a reason why it's not just weight that deters the outcome of a fight.
For example, Hattons neck thickness and his physic appearance and endurance has been moulded by the fights that's he had.
If you're used to being hit by big hitters at 140 for over 40+ fights, your physical and mental conditioning has matured at that weight.
If Manny does carry his speed to 140, does he have the power to bother Hatton or Mayweather?
When he takes a body punch off Hatton and thinks "F**k me that hurt" because he's not used to getting hit at that weight.Last edited by mojack; 12-01-2008, 11:16 AM.Comment

Manny Pacquiao has officially thrown his hat into the Ricky Hatton sweepstakes. The winner of this Saturday's bout between Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya is the likely next opponent for Hatton in 2009. Pacquiao, a serious underdog, is moving up by two weight divisions to fight De La Hoya at the welterweight limit of 147. In his latest ESPN training blog, Pacquiao said he was inspired by Hatton's recent win over Paulie Malignaggi and plans to move down to junior welterweight to hunt down a Hatton fight. Sadly Frank, i think that Hatton (and De La Hoya to an extent) are too busy thinking about a Wembly record breaking fight. Hatton has said that he will fight the winner of DLH-Pacman, but it seems to me that he only has his eyes on DLH. I think he is only saying he will fight Pacman because he doesn't expect him to beat DLH, if you get what i mean. When Hatton says: "I'll fight the winner" he is really saying "I'll fight DLH WHEN he wins"
DLH should beat Pacman this Saturday, and Hatton will probably fight DLH around May/June next year at Wembly. I fear that we may have to wait until Nov/Dec 09 to see Hatton-Pacquiao. The way it is, i think Pacman is second in line regardless of whether he beats DLH on the 6th, i think Hatton and DLH want to get the Wembly bonanza out of the way in case anything should happen to them in the mean time, to me Hatton-DLH- spring09 -Wembly already appears to be a done deal.Comment

Of course I know that, but is anyone really buying this whole retired thing? Everyone knows he'll be back, it's just a matter of time. Quite frankly I look forward to him coming back and hope it's early 09'. Should he come back, my comment would be correct.Comment
