    Manny Pacquiao's Dream Transcends Boxing

By T.K. Stewart - For Manny Pacquiao, Saturday night's mega-event, 'The Dream Match' against Oscar De La Hoya in Las Vegas, means much more to him than any other fight. For the fiercely patriotic Pacquiao, known as the 'National Fist' in his native Philippines, this is a fight he perceives as being a collective battle for the voice of an impoverished nation.

For Pacquiao, Saturday night is the most significant fight of his professional boxing career. Should he overcome the long odds against him - and win - he will automatically be ushered into a spotlight brighter than any he has ever known. [details]

I thought the author of the article was Ronnie...

But, well, this is a profound one. Made a nice read. He may not acknowledge, but, as far as Boxing is concerned, he is the Asian Treasure. GO Pac GO!

Some people are gifted and destined to do certain things. Pacquiao has been placed in a position where he understands the life of severe poverty. He has lived that life as a child. His inspiration to those who have nothing is what drives him. Some people dont know what they have until its gone. Others understand the feeling of having absolutely nothing to becoming rich an prosperous. That is the reason why Pac is put in the position he is in. Like him or not, Pac's heart and sympathy for the less fortunate is what makes him not only a great fighter but also a good person.

manny has a good heart in looking out for his folks back home. its a great story no doubt but i just cant picture him beating oscar, he may be a more muscular boxer now,but what if he overtrained or if he attacks oscar too impatient like hatton did vs mayweather.

i sincerely beleive one clean punch by oscar will end the fight, dont get me wrong im gonna be rooting for manny to win because i want oscar to retire, and also becuz mayweather will most definetly return to face pacquiao,he wont be able to turn down the amount of money that bout would offer.

oscar has done all he needed to do in the sport, now hes the best promoter and he should stick to that, becuz beating manny doesnt mean that hes back to an elite level,it wont gain him any respect from his peers or enhance his legacy. this is a lose/lose situation for oscar, manny has to feel comfortable cuz even if he gets ko'd, he will still get credit for facing a stronger and bigger fighter and most likely remain the p4p best.

if this was the ol school oscar, it would be de la hoya vs margarito on dec.6.
but this is the business man oscar

I will be pulling for Manny but I think Oscar is just too big for him. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

I have alot of respect for Manny for taking this fight and he should be able to hang in there in the early rounds but one clean left hook from DLH and it's lights out for Manny.

i just hope this fight goes past six, i got my money on pac but seriously, i dont know whats gonna happen if he has trouble with dlh jab or gets caught with one of those hooks. jmm buckled pac in their last fight and jmm isnt known to be a big puncher at 130 and this fight is at 147, which dlh is a pretty big ****er at this weight. good luck manny, ive got almost all my points on you

Pacquiao says "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY" yet he was crying like a lil ***** about how he wanted a 40 percent share from the Oscar fight. Plus, he wouldn't rematch Marquez because there was BIGGER MONEY with Oscar. Didn't fight Valero or Soto because it's a high risk LOW MONEY reward. Now he wants Hatton because it's a another mega fight with MEGA MONEY. So Pacquiao...go on, keep saying "IT'S NOT ABOUT THE MONEY, it's for my country" HAHAHAHA pathetic. Still, get your money Pac, no hate, just don't sound so ****** trying to cover it up with lame **** like that.
