    What boxing needs is...

    Exciting #1 contender matches.
That will hype people up for when there actually is a title fight.
Haye-Arreola would be fantastic. And how about Dawson-Johnson II for the right to fight Calzaghe? Instead of handing out title shots, make fighters earn it!

Boxing needs to promote the right fights. If as many people saw Cotto-Margarito as DLH-Mayweather, the week after the fight it would have been the talk of the sports world. The week leading up to the fight I saw barely any comercials for it. Boxing fans knew going in to DLH-Mayweather it was going to be a Floyd using his boxing skills, which casual fans don't find interesting. Boxing fans knew going into Cotto-Margarito it would be a toe-to-toe battle.

I think it needs more actual title fights. ****ing 11 out of 17 actual titles are vacant.

Calzaghe is just waiting for Hoya-Pacquiao so possibly Pac gets dethroned of his number one position so he can say he retires undefeated and as the #1 p4p fighter in the world. In the mean time he will balloon to 220 and diet to 120 so he can say he went tru all weight divisions undefeated. He will use the power of the dollar to draw Ali and Foreman into a fight (while at HW) and beat them both at the same time. Emmanuel Stuart will immediately say Calzaghe is the best to ever lace em up.
