    Where is Williams' fan base?

Not trying to start ****, just an honest question. Not only is he one of the best fighters in the world, he's entertaining, and willing to fight anyone too. Yet every fight I see of his, he gets hardly any fan reaction. When they announced, "And New..." you could hear a pin drop. He continues to fight in smaller arenas. Hell Arreola was really the main attraction last night.

It's odd to me that a guy like Williams cant even get some fan support. Is his promoter to blame? Is it just the American fan base in general? Other than Pavlik, not a lot of current American fighters have that support.

He looks too amatuerish to win over the real connoisseurs of the sport, and lacks the power to attract casual fans. Most of his fans are former Mayweather supporters, but the younger less purist among those.

Are you at least warming up to him? His chin and knack for fighting inside really helps his defensive liabilities. And you have to at least respect his punch output. I cant say I'm completely sold on him as a force yet, but I'm pretty much convinced that he's a top fighter in the sport.
