    Ruslan Chagaev

    Where the hell is Chagaev?

Is he still recovering from his torn achilles tendon??

I hope he gets back in the mix soon. Chagaev is the real WBA heavyweight champion, he only lost his title because of the injury.

Chagaev would beat any heavyweight in the world not named Klitschko.

Still recovering, I presume. A torn achilles tendon is a ***** of an injury.

Chagaev was named champion in recess and has until June 26th 2009 to defend that "title" against the Valuev-Holyfield winner. I read a while back that he wanted to take a tune up fight in Jan or Feb to test his achilles tendon.

I think you overrated Chagaev. I have only seen him since the Virchis fight, but (and yes with some extenuating circumstances), he BARELYl slipped by a very limited fighter there. He looked great against Sprott but then BARELY squeaked by an ancient Ruiz. He then fought a perfect fight against the giant and still barely won it. He didn't even impress against the most limited fighter to ever land a significant fight in Matt Skelton totally. Granted it can be argued that it is impossible to look good against fighters like Valuev (huge), Ruiz (a master of limiting damage to himself), and Skelton (so ****ty you end up reeking), but I see him at best as yet unfufilled hype. I want to see more than him inching by fighters that are supposed to be below him.

Chagaev and Virchis are good friends. Friend vs Friend fights are usually always disappointing. I have the fight and have watched it several times, Chagaev outboxed Virchis and clearly won...It seemed like Chagaev was taking it easy on him, they were both smiling throughout the fight and touching gloves at the end of every round..

Chagaev didn't just "squeak" by Valuev and Ruiz, he clearly won both fights.
