I agree, but it's not like Manny would fight some legitimate fight if he couldn't get Oscar. Manny, is a full blown opportunist, especially with an emotional trainer like Roach. They didn't let Manny go against Soto or Guzman, who are his age and prime equivalents, and probably lively enough to give Manny more then he's use to.

Basically Manny's people have given him fights that closley resemble the bums he fought in the Phillipine islands, the moments where they tried to step up and saw the problems Manny has had...Well that's probably got them more shook then Shaggy and Scooby Doo after seein a ghost pirate lmao....

      risk?

and i suppose him ducking Margarito, when he said he'd fight the winner of Cotto/Margarito, and instead choosing to fight a short small 135 pounder is taking a risk......

OSCAR PLS STFU!!! NO ONE WANTS TO HEAR IT, FLOYD FOUGHT YOU AND BEAT YOU, FLOYD FOUGHT HATTON AND KNOCKED HIM OUT!!! AND OSCAR YOU ARE ALREADY LINING UP TO FACE HATTON, ANOTHER SMALL OPPONENT, WHERE'S THE RISK WITH YOU DOING THAT NOW? NEXT THING YOU'LL BE CALLING OUT VIC DARCHINYAN!!!

I HOPE SOMEWAY SOMEHOW, PAC-MAN IS ABLE TO EMBARASS YOU, AND BEAT YOU ASS!!!

BUT IT PROBABLY WONT HAPPEN SINCE YOU FEEL THERE'S NO RISK IN FACING A TINY LITTLE GUY!!!

In shocking blow to De La Hoya, Mayweather announced his retirement in June - crushing a fight that was being hyped by De La Hoya and HBO since the start of the year and leaving De La Hoya with few options. Is this guy a joker? Isn't fighting Oscar in a weight class of his choosing, ring and gloves of his choosing, on a huge size disadvantage risky? That's the most risk i saw any fighter taking since Lennox fought Vitali as his last fight or Hatton fighting Floyd, also going up to a new weight class in the process. To be fair Oscar also took some risks in the past vs Trinidad and Hopkins, but that seems a very long time ago, considering what's he's doing now.

in my apinion he does'nt have to fight margarito. i don't like margie anyway but don't question somebodies heart while fighting little guys that can't hurt you. and the only reason he fought vargas was because the mexican people kept calling him chicken de la hoya. shane's not afraid to fight beger fighters.

Fighting Pacquiao will almost be like when he was fighting Hopkins only he will be in Hopkins position and Manny will be in his. Bernard Hopkins has never seen a day below middleweight.
De La Hoya had fought at 160 for a title right before he fought Hopkins, and he fought at 154 for a while previous to that and established himself there.

Pacquiao JUST moved up to 135 in his last fight. He hasnt really established himself there, he just beat the worst champion in the devision. He has just had one fight in the division. Now he is skipping 140 and going all the way to 147 against a guy who has fought at 160.

                bad comparison

Was that a sideways diss at Calzaghe? Can we be getting ready to see De La Hoya/Calzaghe next? Or was Oscar taking a dig at him to set up a possible Hopkins rematch under the GBP banner?
