Age isn't directly correlated with being shot or being past prime
and yet, Verno isn't really in his prime either.

Unless you're going to say a guy who is in his 20th year of fighting is in his prime.

The notion that hes a 160 pounder who picks on smaller fighters absurd....if you make the wieght...game on.

Pavlik would be a nice fit at 147..but he cant make the weight...so fault Paul because he can???..that makes no sense to me.

but throw a **** fit when Joe Calzaghe at 36, beats Roy Jones at 39 and won't give him credit.

        Sign up boys.
Paul Williams isn't retiring on the heels of this fight and claiming to be a legend. That's the difference jackass.

Where have I ever faulted Paul for being a welter?

          Never.

I applaud anyone for using their advantages.

To do otherwise would be ******.

You're barking up the wrong tree.

No, wrong. Regardless of what calzaghe said to make you get your panties in a twist. You would be talking **** about Calzaghe regardless if he said something you disliked or not. The OP has a point in this thread, and this win for Williams isn't even worth praising over. He couldn't even KO a 39 year old with 11 losses that he was much bigger than. Williams is overrated and will be stopped if he decides to tengo with the top dogs at MW. He needs to stay at 154 or 147 to be dominant.

                  So pleases son, please...

These Williams nuthuggers are getting annoying. They seem to be desperate to make a boxer out to be as good as retired greats like Leonard or Duran. Williams isn't on that level. Period.

It's not a legacy defining fight like it was for Calzaghe.

It's a stay busy fight, he'll back in the ring in 3 months, so who cares.
