Cosign. I like him and everything, but the hugging of him on this site is getting out of hand.

And it was a wise decision by that doctor. For ****s sake, you won't give PWill credit for anything, will you.

Verno Phillips is the JMW version of Glen Johnson.

Who doesn't suffer from Hypocrisy to some degree.

So anyway: Roy was shot and Phillips still could walk. Williams also stopped Phillips while Joe couldn't stop a fighter that had been KTFO twice in recent years.

Both Wins really don't mean much, but just for kicks...that's my take.

            Paul moved down.

I don't care if Verno was never stopped.

You can't honestly say you were impressed by this fight and say Calzaghes wasn't impressive either, especially the cats who picked Jones to win.

            Thats just being a hypocrite.

but throw a **** fit when Joe Calzaghe at 36, beats Roy Jones at 39 and won't give him credit.

              Sign up boys.

Well RJJ is a fighter who depended on his athletic ability and was never a technical...I so badly wanted RJJ to win but should have known it wasn't gonna happen.

I'm Not gonna say I'm impressed by the opponent Paul beat but how GREAT he was going to the body...You must admit his body work tonight was great and he could have easily faught from a distance but brought it to Vernon

Phillips second best WW Rjj not second best LHW
Williams stopped Phillips Calzaghe did not stop Rjj unlike what Tarver and Johnson did
Rjj dropped Calzaghe Phillips didn't drop Williams

Roy Jones was not at a 7" height disadvantage and a 14" reach disadvantage.

Roy was three years older, Verno was 12 YEARS OLDER THAN WILLIAMS.

Roy dominated a great fighter last spring in Felix Trinidad, while Verno won a controversially close decision over Cory Stinks.

I give him credit for beating Margarito.

But for beating a 39 year old with 11 losses?

I don't give Joe credit for beating Roy either.

Good point. If Roy Jones was a has-been, Verno Phillips was a never-had-been.

Oh and he really didnt beat Spinks.
